WebNov 11, 2007 · The CLS is currently in its third cycle of peer review, where 66 new proposals were submitted to five beamlines. In 2006, a total of 196 users were hosted at the CLS. So, at this time, many beamlines are already oversubscribed. The first two science publications from CLS beamlines appeared just days apart in March 2006 [9], [10]. WebElectrons for the CLS are supplied by a 250 MeV linac. This linac has been in operation for over 30 years as part of the Saskatchewan Accelerator Laboratory. The linac, operating at 2856 MHz will produce a pulse train of up to 132 ns in length. A 500 MHz chopper will create 68 electron “packets” for efficient injection into the 2.9 GeV booster. WebThe CLS will host the second X-Ray Diffraction & Scattering School for materials science from August 16-18.
